The common themes in the recounts of the prophetic stories shows the similarity in the messages brought by all the prophets, and reinforces the Qur’anic message that all the Abrahamic prophets were messengers of the same God. In contrary to its title, most of Sura al-Shu’ara tells the stories of the prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Noah, Salih and Lot. Surat al-Shu’ara got its name from verse 224 that mentions the pre-Islamic poets.
